VeriNest Privacy Policy

VeriNest is a product of Belac Multiconcept Ltd. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect

• Everyone: your name, email address and password (stored securely by our login provider).
• People who request viewings or pay: your phone number, the viewings you request and the payments you make.
• Agents and landlords: your phone number, a photo of your ID, a selfie, the bank account we pay you into, and the homes you list.
• On agent listings: the landlord's name, phone number and bank account, given to us by the agent. Only the VeriNest team and that agent can see them.

We collect only what we need to run VeriNest safely.

Why we use it

• To check that agents, landlords and homes are real.
• To arrange viewings and hold and pay out money.
• To send you notices about your account, viewings and payments.
• To stop fraud, such as fake listings or requests for payment outside the app.

Who can see it

• Your ID photo and selfie: only the VeriNest team.
• A home's street address and the lister's phone number: only tenants with a confirmed viewing or a payment for that home.
• A landlord's name and phone number on an agent listing: never shown to tenants or the public.
• We share payment details with Paystack, our payment provider, and send emails through our email provider. We do not sell your data.

Your rights

• You can download your data from your account page.
• You can delete your account from your account page. We keep payment records for as long as the law requires.
• You can ask us to correct wrong details.

Security

Your data is stored with access rules on every table, private files are only opened through links that expire after a minute, and we never log full bank account numbers or ID details.
